Love, Humor and Oreo Shooters!

20160806_181718Kari and Corey know how to throw a party!  We had the pleasure of playing for their wedding reception at the Temple Theatre in Saginaw recently. The couple’s ceremony had taken place in Midland earlier that day. The Temple Theatre is a historic theater built by the Elf Khurafeh Shriners and opened in 1927 in Saginaw, Michigan. The theater was restored in late 2002 and reopened under new owners to host events in the Saginaw area. It is an elegant venue with a circular staircase down which Kari and Corey made their grand entrance.  The couple has known each other for years and the video presentation took us and the guests through a sweet retrospective of their lives.  There was lots of laughter in the room and clearly a love for Oreo cookies as well.  Each place setting had an Oreo shooter and guests toasted the couple with it! What fun!20160806_180639

We played for two and half hours throughout the course of the evening and  as a result covered many different styles of music.  The classic rock and contemporary songs seemed to be a big hit as the guests would frequently applaud.  We had a fun and enjoyed watching Kari and some of her young guests dance.  Congratulations to Corey and Kari!
