Love Always Looks for the Best

Congratulations to Taylor and Ryan, who were married at the Detroit Athletic Club on May 29th.  Their officiant, Ed Cantrell, fittingly said that in no other relationships do two become one.  He also added some key advice for a long and happy marriage, “Love always looks for the best.”

We were honored to once again play at the beautiful Detroit Athletic Club.  The current building was opened in 1915 and the charm and luxury of the day have been well preserved. Thank-you to Beth Leskowski, Taylor and Ryan’s coordinator, for all of your help with cues.

We began by playing classical music in the Georgian Room for the ceremony.  The couple requested some of their favorite Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi pieces.  For the cocktail hour, we moved to the Reading Room and were asked to play from our nostalgic section, which fit superbly with the setting.  All of the guests seemed to enjoy that era of music.  One guest in particular commented that we were playing his favorite song, ‘Begin the Beguine’.  It’s always nice to see people enjoying the day.

Best wishes to the new couple!
