The Beautiful Beginning of a New Family

016Lisa and Dan had a beautiful wedding celebration at the historic and unique Cottonwood Barn in Dexter earlier this month.  The venue, a former private equestrian school, has been lovingly restored and decorated with a modern sense of style.  As the pictures show, sophisticated chandeliers hang from soaring wood beamed ceilings illuminate the ceremony and dining area.  Ana Skidmore and her staff from Two Foot Creative planned an elegant event and as always, it was a delight to work with her team.

Lisa’s brother officiated the wedding ceremony and gathered poignant quotes about marriage from grandparents whose long, happy years of marriage have provided a model worth emulating. Dan touched us all when as part of his vows, he noted that he chose to honor his father-in-law’s wishes to protect and care for Lisa.  This ceremony forged a new family as Dan’s 4 year old son, Brady, acted as ring bearer and was incorporated into the ceremony.

Lisa and Dan chose nostalgic music for the prelude with Etta James “At Last” and “It Had to Be You”. They kept the ceremony itself quite traditional with “Kannon in D” and the “Wedding March” for their recessional. We wish this new family the very best as they begin their adventure together.
