Beautiful August Night for Wedding and Cocktails at the Gem Theatre

IMG_1162This summer has certainly seen some strange weather. But for Kerri and Daniel, the night was perfect! The ceremony was located in the Gem Theatre, who stage was elegantly decorated with candles and vases of gorgeous hydrangea blooms. They music they chose fit beautifully with the Arts and Craft style of this early twentieth century historic theatre. Joplin rags along with Puttin’ On the Ritz and other classics welcomed guests to be seated. Daniels’ grandfather, a former violinist, seemed to enjoy our version of “Moon River” for the family’s seating. The bridal party processed to the Beatles “When I’m 64” and was composed of eight women wearing elegant black cocktail dresses. What a pleasure for these ladies to have a practical minded friend who chose a dress they can use in the future. Kerri walked down the aisle to Elvis’ “Can’t Help Falling In Love”. Following the ceremony, we moved outside to the patio and continued playing a variety of music for the cocktail hour. The weather was delightful for an outside cocktail hour. The Gem theatre has a rich Detroit history and is conveniently located right off of I-375. If you’re looking for a contemporary venue with history and beauty while also being accessible for your guests, the Gem is a guaranteed winner. The staff is wonderful and we extend our thanks to Rachael and Lauren for their help throughout the event. Congratulations to Kerri and Daniel on their beautiful night and future together.
