The Song “Love Story” for Katie and David’s Own Love Story

IMG_1120IMG_1122Katie and David had a gorgeous August day for their wedding at the Detroit Yacht Club. The current DYC clubhouse is located on a private island along the banks of the Belle Isle Park in Detroit. The architecture and interior is of Mediterranean design and was built by George Mason in 1922. Mr. Mason also designed the Gem Theater, Masonic Temple and the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. The clubhouse was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2011. The fabulous stone fireplace made an eye catching alter area for the ceremony. As the title suggest, the couple chose Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” for the bridesmaids and for Katie. They chose the well-known song“Viva la Vida” by Coldplay for their recessional. As the picture shows, Katie and David went with Rockin’ Cupcakes of Rochester for a contemporary twist on the wedding cake. They looked fabulous and had a wide variety to suit everyone’s taste. Following the ceremony, we moved out onto the veranda and continued playing our favorite contemporary pieces. It was a beautiful evening for their guests and we wish them the very best.
