Indiana Jones Makes Special Appearance at Garden Wedding

IMG_1137We knew that Andrea and Warren enjoyed movies and were determined to have fun on their wedding day when we saw their music selection. In addition to upbeat contemporary music for the seating of the guests, they chose the Feather Theme from Forrest Gump for the mother’s seating and Raiders of the Lost Ark for their recessional. The ceremony was held at Matthaei Botanical Gardens in Ann Arbor and the weather was perfect. Rev. Heath Hunter, Pastor at North Monroe Street Church of God of Monroe, Michigan officiated and spoke tenderly of the love and friendship the couple share. We played “You Raise Me Up” by Josh Groban in a sweet moment during the ceremony. The song obviously has special meaning to Warren and Andrea for them to place it in the middle of their wedding ceremony. The wedding program included a small envelope containing fresh lavender and the guests were encouraged to toss it in place of rice or birdseed at the conclusion. The “fun” moment of the ceremony occurred at the end when after pronouncing the couple as husband and wife, Warren pulled out an Indiana Jones and hat and bull whip to wear during their recessional. It certainly generated some laughs and we hope that laughter continues for many years as they grow together in marriage.
