New Wedding Ceremony Tradition Introduced at Indian Springs Wedding

Kelsey and Chad had a sunny August day for their wedding ceremony at Indian Springs Metro Park in White Lake.  A beautiful arch covered with baby’s breath was erected by the pond near the Environmental Discovery Center and served as the alter.  The bridesmaids dresses were a pretty pale green that blended beautifully with the summer grasses and cattails surrounding the pond.  Sally Ann Street officiated the ceremony which included the touching poem, “These are the Hands” and a custom new to us, The Wine and Love Letter.  This tradition calls for the couple to write a love letter prior to their wedding day.  The letters are sealed in the box with a favorite bottle of wine.  Rev. Street explained that should they hit a rough spot in their relationship, they were to sit down together, open the box, uncork the wine and unseal the envelopes that they wrote for one another before their wedding.  A special mention needs to be made about the gorgeous décor designed by Kelsey’s mother, Susan Vince.  Her creative arrangements, as the photos show, were perfect for the setting and truly enhanced the setting.   We wish Kelsey and Chad the very best as they begin their married life together.

  1. Thank you so much for a beautiful summary of our wedding ceremony! Rondo String Quartet was amazing and so professional. I still look back and fondly reminisce about walking down the aisle to such a beautiful song! Thank you again for everything!!
